Rachel Lee Priday joins Asia / America New Music Institute in residency at Texas A&M University, presenting new works for solo violin and ensemble by SunYoung Park (South Korea), Shen Yiwen (China), and Chad Cannon (USA). Together, at the culmination of the residency, they will perform new pieces inspired by elements of the composers’ own cultural heritage, with the intended effect of gaining nuanced insights and new understanding of lived Asian and Asian/American experiences.
